Krispy Egg Shells

Another easy and great recipe !
I learned of this recipe from Kellogs.com (Easter Special)

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons butter

  • # 1 package (10 oz., about 40) regular marshmallows or 4 cups miniature marshmallows

  • 6 cups Kellogg's® Rice Krispies® cereal

  • 1/2 cup M&M'S® Easter colored chocolate candies

  • Canned frosting or decorating gel (optional)

  • 12 plastic snap-apart 3 x 2-in Easter eggs

Instructions:

  1. Clean, then coat inside of plastic eggs with cooking spray. Set aside.
  2. In large saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
  3. Add Kellogg's® Rice Krispies® cereal. Stir until well coated.
  4. Using greased hands, firmly press 1/4 cup of Rice Krispies® mixture into both halves of each plastic egg. Use fingers to make hollow center in each half. Remove from molds. Place on wax paper. Cool slightly.
  5. Place about 6 M&M'S® Brand Chocolate Candies in one half of each egg. Gently press two halves of each egg together until they stick. Cool completely.
  6. Decorate with frosting and additional M&M'S® Brand Chocolate Candies (if desired). Best if served the same day.

Easter Peep Pops

Ingredients:
Cake and Frosting
Pastel Wild Flower Sprinkles
Diamond Shape Sprinkle
Cake Mix
White Candy Melts
Yellow Candy Melts
Paper Lollipop Sticks
Black Edible Ink Pen
Paramount Crystals
Styrofoam Block
Rainbow Candy Coated Chips

Instructions:

  • Bake the cake mix of your preference.
  • After cake is cooked  completely, crumble into large bowl.
  • Mix thoroughly with 1 can frosting.
  • Roll mixture into quarter size balls and place on wax paper covered cookie sheet. (Should make 45-50)
  • Melt chocolate in the microwave per directions on package. (30 sec intervals, stirring in between.)
  • Dip the tip of your lollipop stick in a little of the melted candy coating and insert into the cake balls. (Insert a little less than halfway.)
  • Place them in the freezer for a little while to firm up.
  • Once firm, carefully insert the cake ball into the candy coating by holding the lollipop stick and rotating until covered. Once covered remove and softly tap and rotate until the excess chocolate falls off. Don’t tap too hard or the cake ball will fall off, too.

  • Once dry, draw faces with an edible ink pen and allow ink to dry!
  • Decorate faces as you wish.

This is always a fun activity to do for Easter with family and friends! Enjoy !
